The International Services Council - which is transitioning to the new name, Global Ties Alabama - is one of 94 non-profit councils in the United States and the only one in Alabama to coordinate visits from international leaders visiting the United States on study tours at the invitation of the U.S. State Department. Nobel and Jim Lewis co-founded the National Society of High School Scholars in 2002.
