    Allahabad University alumnus Kapil Dev Tripathi appointed President's secretary

    PRAYAGRAJ: Allahabad University alumnus Kapil Dev Tripathi was on Monday appointed the secretary to President Ram Nath kovind.
    Student of Government Inter College (GIC), Tripathi had been a topper throughout his student life. Tripathi cleared civil services exam in his first attempt and became an IAS officer.
    Tripathi, the 1980 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, is presently the chairman of Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB).Tripathi has held various post in central as well as state governments including secretary in the central vigilance commission, department of personnel and training, ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions.
    Appointment committee of the cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi appointed Tripathi as secretary to the President, informed his younger brother Dr K D Tripathi who still lives in Prayagraj.
    "Simplicity and commitment to responsibility given to him are the hallmark of my elder brother", said Dr Tripathi.
