Former Ohio State and NFL running back Robert Smith is a FOX college football game analyst. Prior to the season, Smith served as a FOX NFL game analyst as well as a FOX college football game and studio analyst for several years, in addition to calling a handful of games from the FOX broadcast booth over the years.
In addition to his FOX NFL work, in 2024, Smith also serves as an analyst for select UFL games.
Smith first joined FOX Sports prior to the 2016 college football season as a studio analyst, working pregame, halftime and postgame coverage before moving to the broadcast booth as a college football analyst.
A native of Euclid, Ohio, Smith starred as a running back at The Ohio State University and was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1990 when he rushed for 1,126 yards. He played two seasons with the Buckeyes football program, in 1990 and 1992, leading the team in rushing both years and averaging 88.4 yards per game with 18 total rushing touchdowns. Smith also ran track at Ohio State and earned first-team All-Conference recognition in 1992 and 1993.

Robert Scott Smith (born March 4, 1972) is an American college football analyst for Fox Sports and the Big Ten Network. He played professionally as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
