Casillas greater than ever: Spanish coach
Spain coach Vicente del Bosque says Iker Casillas' place in the nation's football history is more important than ever despite the 35-year-old's relegation to the bench in France.
Some feared Casillas would spoil his legacy as Spain's greatest goalkeeper by being no more than an unused substitute at France 2016.
For now the memories of the former Real Madrid keeper are positive ones. Spain supporters remember him saving two penalties in the 2008 last-16 meeting with Italy.
They will also never forget his save at the feet of Arjen Robben in the 2010 World Cup final against Holland, and how he conceded just one goal in the 2012 Euros.
