Ruth Ann Buzzi (BUZZY; born July 24, 1936)[1][2] is a retired American actress and comedienne. She has appeared on stage, in films, and on television. She is best known for her performances on the comedy-variety show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In from 1968 to 1973, for which she won a Golden Globe Award and received five Emmy nominations.
Early life
[edit]Buzzi was born at Westerly Hospital, Westerly, Rhode Island, the daughter of Rena Pauline and Angelo Peter Buzzi, a nationally recognized stone sculptor. Her father, who came from a Swiss family, immigrated from Arzo, Switzerland in 1923.[3][4] She was raised in the village of Wequetequock in the town of Stonington, Connecticut, in a stone house overlooking the ocean at Wequetequock Cove, where her father owned Buzzi Memorials, a business that her older brother Harold operated until his retirement in 2013.[5]

Tomaso Buzzi (born September 30, 1900, Sondrio, Italy-died February 16, 1981, Rapallo, Italy) was an Italian designer, architect, and interior decorator. Tomaso Buzzi graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1923. Before graduating, he became associated with the Studio di Sant'Orsola group, which included Gio Ponti, Michele Marelli, and Emilio Lancia.In 1927, along with Paolo Venini, Gio Ponti, Emilio Lancia, and Pietro Chiesa, he created the association named "Il Labirinto," a design house dedicated to promoting modern decorative arts with innovative design and high quality. He produced glass, ceramic, and porcelain objects, as well as mirrors and handcrafted wood furniture.During the 1920s and 1930s, Tomaso Buzzi became a renowned designer and one of the favorite architects of the Milanese bourgeoisie. Although Buzzi and Gio Ponti had a long-lasting professional collaboration, they parted ways by the early 1930s, and Buzzi took on more industrial design projects.
